online games to play

Heroes of Newerth
Price: 30$, no subscription fees, no forced cashshop, no bs.
Download: +- 500Meg
Can send you a trial key if you want. Not newbie friendly at all, has SA servers and great netcode for playing on Int servers.

League of legends
F2P, but limited hero pool, will need to grind to unlock heroes.
Think size is now +-1Gig (someone confirm)
Way more newbie friendly, won't get raged at that much as in HoN

Bloodline Champions.
Price : F2P
Size: Think around 300Meg
Kinda like Diablo meets WoW battlegrounds, a great pvp game. Mostly reflex based so int ping gonna put you at a small disadvantage.

The games above have quite large player bases which can be played in sessions and action starts immediately. Unlike the traditional boring grinding MMORPGs.

No, not really. Not saying it isn't a good game, but I'm not an MMO type of guy.

Oh.. yeah.. I didn't really like online playing.. since I hear people die etc etc..

But just want to try it out now.. :)

Then play League of legends its basically a DOTA... it has built in safety mechanisms that guarantee it won't kill you. Theres a glass screen that protects your face from any damage, and your opponents are seperated from you by a cable and a couple 1000km's of land and sea so if you feel like you are close to dying you may remove the cable... death averted.

Well yes and no. To put in WoW terms , imagine there are 5 classes , imagine only 3 of them are "free" , the other 2 you must buy. Now , while you play ,in WoW, you can say go to a lvl 40 zone called "Thousand Needles" OR to another lvl 40 zone called "Dustwallow Marsh" . Imagine you have to pay for the one zone, the other one is free. That is LOTRO .

So yes there is a "path" you can play that are free up to a point, but it will be a very specific path and not necessarily the most interesting path. There will also be a point where you might have to "grind" to level , because you don't have access to a zone that could have gotten you a few levels.

You will also have to buy the expansions eventually [ Moria and Mirkwood] which is i think lvl 50 onwards. I'm not sure whether you can level past 50 without the expansions [i bought it before the game went F2P, so i don't need to buy it again] , and last i checked it was quite expensive in the cash shop (well not expensive by Blizzard standards, but expensive considering how old it is, was like $25 per expac) . I think pricing per zone aka "quest pack" was like $10 per zone .

So it's very easy to start buying up these zones and spending $30 in a given month, where if you subscribed for $15 a month you would have had full access all the time. The advantage of buying a zone though is that you will have it "forever", if subscription stops you lose access to the paid zones, but i would ultimately still pay $15 and level unhindered through all the zones and hope i don't need to return to them ;) . Usually you don't return to lowbie zones in most MMOs.

wow.. long explaination :)

I understand..

I guess just playing it for fun is the mind set I have to have to play it for free lol :)

Is online games addictive?

Oh.. but the first two is like Dota.. mm.. Don't like really Dota..

Thanks anyway

Haha.. I guess it's fine.. :)

Sometimes offline games just doesn't do the entertaining job right lol :P

Yeah.. kind of.. But it could be also for those who have capp.. if you know what I mean.. :)

I got capp's, I bussem all the time.

Games don't use lots of capp though, only the occasional update. If you only game you will probably use about 5gb's max in a month. That with a lot of play time.
