Does anyone advise playing online games using your phone as a modem?
My phone supports 3G is it possible?
How much data is usually sent and received during online playing, so i can calculate exactly how much it will cost me!:D I'm using Vodacom as my network operator.

no i don't advice it for most games.cos of package lost.I know there is a few ppl that play dota online with 3g and gets away with it.But in most cases it doesn't work so well.Dunno about any other games.

Yes, it is possible. Especially on 3G and HSDPA.

The bandwidth and latency depends on what game you want to play.
Some games, like Battlefield and WoW are more bandwidth hungry that games like for instance Eve Online and Guild Wars.

FPS games tend not to like any latency.
RPG games are more latency friendly.

I've played with GPRS (before advent of HSDPA) but since then have been using 3G and HSDPA. It works great.
GPRS has become almost useless for online play.
On Guild Wars I use about 2-5MB per hour. It all depends on the game.

My phone suppports 3G but often is always switches back and forth to 3G and normal GPRS. Is there a way to prevent this from happening, since when my signal changes from 3G to GPRS i get disconnected which could be really troublesome when trying to play online games.
Is there something that i can buy to increase my 3G signal strength or something?
I have a nokia 6630!

I think you can purchase a 3G aerial.
Vodacom sells them.
Switching off of 3G to GPRS can be stopped if you make sure under settings that it only picks up 3G.:D:D:D:D

It depends on the game. I know of some people who play(ed) Eve Online on GPRS.
