Online Racing Game?

Howzit! I have a rather unsual request...

I was wondering if anyone could help me find the NAME of a game & possibly even a link of an Online Racing game thats really popular at the moment.

Unfortunately my stagnating & rather dormant brain has forgotten what its called.

I know its alot like Need For Speed, in the sense that you can get cars, customize them & race them against other ppl online.

It has a website with a forum. A few SA players play, however they cannot access the game due to a connectivity issue.

The games about 700mb to download. Is totally free & has a large US & UK fan base.

Please if anyone recalls it, let me know. I recall there was a few posts about it last year. Just I cannot find the thread anymore.

For a local on-line racing community head over to SARL. They have an on-line forum at SAIX Gaming Services. The 2 current most popular sims locally are rFactor and Live for Speed. There is also a moderately active GTR community though.

If you're obsessed about realism, physics models, and want to work your way through a realistic career from Rookie all the way to Class A, and can live with a pay-to-play subscription model a-la World of Warcraft, then take a serious look at iRacing.

Nopers its not TrackMania.

This game is almost like a "carbon' copy of NSF but FREE! <3

Unfortunately neither of these were the game I'm after.

Think I might have to search my old HD's for a link or go through the threads here again.

Its just a pity, this game was awesome considering it was free.

you must be speaking about either rFactor or Live for Speed

buy rFactor. The game has quite an active modding community. Look at www.rfactorcentral.com and you'll see all the mods for it
