Hi all,

So lately online shop templates/systems are more readily available than when I still did development.

Which one can you guys recommend ... I have seen shopify and eShop. Are there any other ones out there?

Thanks

Have you considered OpenCart or Prestashop. Woocommerce is also awesome. The only difference is shopify and those other online shopping ready sites offer is that they have templates you can choose from but it comes at a "subscription" cost which costs you per transaction and products and very little space aswell.

Build it yourself with free opensource tools is my recommendation :) You'll be amazed how simple it is.

I will definitely have a look ... my one concern is the integration to payment gateways and couriers for the opensource ones.

Most Payment Gateways will have their own modules designed that can be integrated easily into the shopping sites themselves as per example:
https://www.payfast.co.za/s/std/shopping-carts

Not too sure about couriers as that may be an api you need to develop a plugin for. Any developer can do it for you. We've used ModulesGarden.com for all our custom application development if we cannot fulfil it with our developer.

I use opencart on my website and have tested Prestashop. Prestashop has matured over the years, the built in mobile site is a essential feature. One thing I have found that OpenCart templates and modules are much more affordable than Prestashop and Woocommerce. You can check out themeforest to see what I mean. Magento is a pain to work with but maybe its better if you use their Pro version.
