G'day fellas

I'm looking for a few guides and tutorials that are available online to help someone get back up to date with the following web development technologies:
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • Javascript
  • jQuery
  • SQL
  • C#
  • ASP.net

The aim is to update and refresh knowledge for someone who has studied these technologies but might not have worked with it for a year or two.

Basically I want quick refresher online tutorials that are available for free.

They can be either in written or video format.

I've seen the free guides availalble at www.w3schools.com and those are the type of things I am looking for. I like the quizzes and the end too.

Any suggestions will be appreciated!

The only way I can recommend anyone to learn anything is from trial/error. Think of something you want to do, then do it in the latest/greatest technology.

That's how I'm busy learning .NET 4.5 and how I've learned all of my languages I've ever used.

^^ This.

There's no substitute for it. There are however plenty of good learning sites on the web tho like Net Tuts (http://net.tutsplus.com/). Also you can learn a lot of html, css and javascript by breaking down your favourite sites with Firefox's firebug or Chrome's development tools. It depends on your target audience but I would personally stay away from the html 5 hype until there's more takeup of html 5 compatible browser versions.

Hi there,
I agree real learning is cemented by doing. tutsplus has some good stuff. Learnfast has material but I believe it is not for free.

I would also look at XXX for dummies as an alternative.

Regards

Tim

Hello,

I have training material for web design.

But I don't have any practical applications for applying my knowledge.

Anyone know a good place where they challenge you with projects where you can measure your strong and weak points?

Thanks
