Only one person complained about disappearing mobile data: NCC

That's because everyone else in SA has given up on the NCC as a means of resolving issues.

Exactly this.

I had an issue with an auction house a year or two back and I tried for several days to get a hold of the NCC which was almost impossible....and then when I finally got a hold of them some idiot who didn't have the faintest idea of what he was doing told me they have a couple hundred thousand queries on backlog so mine would take months or years to get to be investigated.I put the phone down and instead sorted the matter out successfully with the auction house.

The fact of the matter is the NCC is hard to contact and then useless.People know this and therefore don't bother going to them.

Well said. And when it comes to the electronic age, our dear NCC does know their a*** from there elbows.

How do you get hold of the NCC, and then get someone who is only reasonably intelligent on the other side - as inteligent is too much to ask for ...

How would we ever know? I've had occasions where Cell C charge me less than I actually used and occasions where they charged me more. Billing systems aren't an exact science.

Interessting that this spokesperson says that phone setup is a 'get out of jail free' for the operators but then gives the EXACT advise the networks (and most people on this forum) give; be aware that newer, fster phones use more data as the ease of use and the richness of the content goes up.
