Found a PE tutorial about out-of-border (OOB) pics on the net.

Here's my first effort - probably wasn't the best photo to use. I can see this becoming addictive though! :p

Here's the tutorial if anyone's interested -

It doesn't really work on that picture though - but yeah, it's great, i've used it on two of my websites before.

it's usually better if the top part (like heads/etc) go out of border, not the feet though...

I tried this using GIMP. Was going good untill I needed the "Group with Previous" feature which GIMP doesnt have. I got round the problem the first time, but the second time it was needed, I couldnt really think of another way of doing it so I gave up.

Sorry Just_Ice, I've never used GIMP so I can't make any suggestions.

Had a look at your Flickr gallery - WOW, fantastic photos!

Here's two more that I tried - better subjects, but I'm still battling a bit to get the perspective 100%.

thanks, this looks interesting. Think I'm going to give it a shot when I have a moment.

Thanks. You got a flickr account?

The first pic that you link to is really cool. Movie like if you ask me.
It probably is possible to do it with GIMP, but seeing that I dont know all of its features I cant think of another way of doing it.

Nope, I mostly print the pics I like, haven't really considered posting.

Looking at the people on this forum my photos aren't nearly as good. I'm more of a "shoot a 1000 and by virtue of the laws of probability 10 will come out really nice" - which I'll then PS to death. :D

But I'm learning, and concentrating more on composition and exposure so hopefully I'll get better at it. :)

Do what I do and then only post 1 of out the 10 really nice ones out of the 1000 shots. :P Its a good feeling when you get complimented on your good shots and makes you work harder to get them more often.
