Hi everyone

Hope you guys are having a decent festive season! :) 🍻

The mechanic and I here in St Lucia are looking for the upper coolant hose for my Opel Astra (1.6 CS) - they have tried in surrounding areas, to no avail and are busy trying Opel City in Durban.

Just in case for a plan B, if Opel City doesn't have this hose - I would like to find out if there any other suppliers/scrapyards who source this hose pretty pretty please 🙏

I have attached pics of how it looks like when the car gets driven and when not, will provide the details of the car to the supplier who can source this hose.

Any help, suggestions will be very appreciated :)

You have remedied the reason it bulges like that, right?

And which one is it? Astra G? Sometimes it us easier to search with that than the year model.

yea, it got a hole, it got spliced and now the hose is swelling up when driven.

from my understanding, it is the Opel Astra G - i think i found some guys who are stripping such cars, awaiting for confirmation.

thanks so much

Take a pic of the outside and we can tell you which one :).
This is the G

I like that shape but it was the weird time Opel went more subdued compared to previous and subsequent years.

hi all :)

Apologies for the delay - the car ended up having a blown gasket back in KZN, luckily the one mechanic there fixed it nicely so I could get back home to GP. The gasket was so old and broken so I guess it decided to stop working when this one coolant hose broke when driving down to KZN.

And yea, my car is the G one, the oG one ;)

Goldwagen in Joberg had it, the one in Richards Bay didn't. I also saw that Takealot sells this kind of hose too.

Thanks all
