Hi, so i know there has just been a thread about insurance, but was just curious if anyone could just give me a rough idea of how much insurance would be on a opel corsa essentia 1.4 2008 model, unfortunately i am only 21 years of age so this does make me a high risk factor, so if someone can just give me a rough idea i'd appreciate it.

Reckon you are going to cry a little bit ... Worthwhile, if possible, to insure via your parents.

fml, rofl checked on hippo, 1.5k a month, haha i mean thats close to a car payment each month, people can actually afford that?

21 years old: sorry. We all went through that some how or the other.

Ya well it's more about the principal of supporting yourself and not relying on your parents, and just a matter of being independent and saying you did things yourself, but ya at that price i'd have to go with the parents.

not at that age buddy .....

The most my insurance has been at most R850 with full cover and car hire. (Nissan Tiida R115k) That was when I was 23. My Vivo GT is R800 a month, I'm 26 now. R165k . Phone around or ask the dealer to point you in a direction, you could even say the deal is off if I cant get cheaper insurance.

Hahahah dude I've achieved way more than the average 21year old, financially I'm well off, well average, and I'm sure there's not many out there that have achieved what I have at my age, and I don't say this in an arrogant or bragging kind of way, but it is just annoying when someone looks at your age and judges you on your financial status and that because of it. Not saying I know everything about life, just like I said its annoying having people look at my age and them seeing what I have and automatically thinking mommy and daddy bought that for me or got me to where I am.

:wtf:

clearly you have issues ...what we talking about is insurance ...at that age you need to go to parents ...im only 25 and for insurance i will go to dad even if i can afford to pay that r1000 ....no one said you did not achieve anything

Just make sure you are registered as the day to day driver if you use your parents insurance otherwise they will not pay.

I am 24 and also get a bit raped by the insurance premium (in my name), 200k car, use car for business and it is parked in a garage at night and my insurance is about R1150.

Yip as said b4
There is a very strict clause being Insurable Interest, basically meaning that the Insured of the policy must suffer a direct financial loss to enable cover.
IE: Sons car insured under Dads policy and son is working then you'll be lucky to get settlement following a loss.

Get a broker, get everything in writing etc etc.

Someone who's not 21? Honestly, though, I'm 41 and insurance scares the crap out of me.

Because at 21 driving at over 200km/h an hour on a busy highway seems like a normal thing to do. :p

Why is it annoying if you know that every single one of us went through that? Life is a rite of passage, and you have to live it to get the benefits of being where you are. If you live it like a crazy person and total a lot of cars, your insurance is going to be just as insane. If you can manage to reach my age with a few minor cuts and bruises, they'll be a lot more lenient. It's about trust, and right now - nobody trusts you. ;)
