Opel corsa lite 1.4 2006

Good Day guys,

My corsa lite 06 model gave no warning indication of any sort,however when I switch the car on again my gear lever was super loose,limp couldn't select any gears not evan neutral or reverse however my car or gearbox still stuck in 1st.
Does anyone know how to have this fixed or what I could do ?

It's gear linkages, remove the battery and the tray for good access, you will see the two cables coming from the gear lever, there is usually a plastic bracket that breaks, causing the linkages not to have the tension, that's what causes the limp lever problem.

If you are lucky it might be just something that has come loose and you can tie it back with a cable tie.
