Hi guys,

I just wanted to find out as I am not a mechanic, I was driving and the car cut off, I pulled over and then tried starting but it was turning over and then a back fire. I was at a dangerous place with my family so I carried on starting, eventually I had to tow it, opened it up only to find the cambelt loose and teeth missing, I got a mech to change the belt but now same story, he says the valves are bent, sounds like a spinning noise but not starting, he says 4k job, could I have bent the valves?

That's unfortunately what happens when the cambelt breaks while in motion, if he can do a decent job for R4k then you got a good deal.

I wonder hat caused such a catastrophic failure of the cam belt, some pulley seized perhaps?

Nope, I bought this car recently and I don't think it was ever changed after, it had the original belt on.

Hey guys, can anyone tell what this plug is and where it’s suppose to go.

I have an Opel Corsa B 2005, and it randomly cuts out when approaching a stop, I shift the car into neutral then it just dies, which then I have to restart it again.

I’ve changed various things such as the coil pack, MAP sensor, farely new idle control valve, as well as plugs and leads. Please assist as this problem has become rather tedious as well as dangerous, as it happens when i shift down to either take a turn at a robot/traffic light, and sometimes it does not start up again immediately (potentially dangerous when there is oncoming traffic and I cannot restart the car in time)
