Thinking about picking a demo model.

2008, Arden blue, 2000km on the clock for R210 000.

Anybody have one of these? I've got a test drive booked for later this week.

Very good IMHO... went to see one the other day... seriously badass car though, I would rather just stick to my tamer Opel than drive one of those in the interests of living to see myself get to 60 one day.

I dont like it in blue, get the grey one much much better!!
And say you want it for 200k!:)

Hehe..was just browsing through that :)

It seems I can get it for R200k with around 5000km on the clock up country.

Any other suggestions? I have pre-approved finance for around R220k and need to have my choice sorted by the end of the month. Considering perhaps going for a used, year or two old Astra OPC for the same bucks.

Cool, got my test drive booked for 9am on Saturday. Will let you guys know how it goes.

I tested the Astra OPC when it came out and I loved it!

I saw an Astra OPC this morning - didn't even know they existed!

Seriously good looking car that!!

Just got a call from a GM dealer....R209k brand new!!!! Only thing is that they only have black or silver. Had my heart set on Arden Blue.

Yup - that's cause they're not selling ;)

I wouldn't get a demo unless it was 195k or so, personally.

Local GM guys will only let me have a demo (1800km on the clock) in the colour of my choice for R212k :(

Going to have to fight them hard!

Or pay the R212 but they throw in a free 5 year service plan!:D

Just becareful of demo models even if they have low km's. It's always best practice to stay away from demo cars or cars used in the rental service.

Just think about it. A demo model is driven by a lot of people with different driving styles and then you have staff from the given manufature that use it for company buisiness. That puts a lot more wear and tear on the mechanicals than a single owner. And we all know how people drive company cars knowing when it's not their own. Never mind when they know the car will be sold soon. Perfect time to go rev limit the hell out of it that one last time.

I'm not saying the demo OPC is crap, just becareful. For example if the car has gearbox or engine problems sooner than usual in it's life then the obove mentioned might just be the problem.

True - I've heard of a Renault Sport demo clutch going at 12,000km and the new owner had to pay

Decided to pick up a new one instead...not taking a chance with a demo.

It'll be arriving from the factory in PE next week! :D
