About a year ago I decided to service my car, this went really well until I picked up my air filter box and started to "fiddle" with it. I saw something sticking out and my primal instinct kicked in, I then proceeded to poke the object only to find out that it way my air flow meter. Luckily for me my brute force broke the meter leaves  this leads me to the following question:

Does anyone know where to get an air flow meter and for how much?

I went to GM and they were overpriced. In addition, I went to Goldwagon but they did not have the 8valve meter only the 16v.

Air flow meters are very expensive (usually in the 2K to 4K range from agents).
Why not get a second hand one from a scrap yard?

I recently replaced the central locking mechanism on my Mazda Etude.
The agents wanted to charge me a bit over R3000 - I got the part from a scrap yard for R300 and I could have probably bargained the price down to R200.

Get one from a scrap yard. I reckon it would be cheaper to buy the whole airbox from than than just the meter.

I was thinking that and actually did try that, but seem to me that either the yards I went to did not have parts or if they did, they were smart enough to remove the meter from the box. Is there a list of scrap yards that would have a Kadette 200is?

I know it is a dumb question but I need to get a meter....

Dam my curiosity!
