Opel parts prices?

Anyone got an idea how the parts prices for an Opel Corsa 1.6 are these days? The 2009 Kinsey report has a Corsa listed as most expensive, but I'm guessing things may be a little different now.

They are still expensive, I drive a Corsa Utility and I must it's bloody expensive to service especially the parts.
 
My g/f has a Corsa Gsi.

I took the head off some time ago thinking she blew the head gasket.
was overheating.
It didn't, (just a stuck/rusted thermostat) but I still had to buy new head retaining bolts (the spring bolt type)

They were cheaper than I thought.
& a head gasket was R120.

cheap-cheap.
 
So one of you says bloody expensive and the other says cheap. :wtf: Lol
A utility is a bit in a different class though.

@bubbatentoe - What model year is that car, if you don't mind me asking? I'm looking at a 2010 1.6T/Gsi.

standard service is typically R1500 for my 1.8 UTE, Goldwagen parts are pretty cheap but GM parts are insane(typically have an extra 0 VS goldwagen)

Well ! , i have a 2006 Opel Corsa lite, reeds/GM wanted to rush me R1400 for my drivers side mirror assembly ( Cover and Mirror ) that needed replacement, excluding the time and inconvenience of booking the car in.
Picked up the same assembly from Reddy's Auto part (Montagu Gardens), new, in the box for R96, did the labour myself.

So it wasnt an original GM part, so what, the price difference was so staggering that all i could was nod when the salesman at Reddy's asked me a 2nd time if i wanted the part.

When it comes to parts on smaller model cars, all i can say is shop around, there are many autospare shops out there far better priced than most dealers on prices, and if you need to replace your whole car with "grey" parts that are affordable to you then do so,
The majority of "grey" parts are simply the same parts without the dealers stamp on the box or on the product.
 
Its best to buy GM parts from non-GM shops. I have found that buying directly from GM can sometimes be more expensive than though a local mechanic.
