So I need to replace my hd598 earpads and headband cushioning but decided since it's nearing 10 years old what about a new pair of headphjone in the R2K-R3K mark.

Looking for open back only and no gaming branded headphones as this will bne used for watching youtube videos, Movies, music (rock, metal, etc). Please no bass heavy headphones. Also need to have velour earpads as I'm sensitive to heat build up inside earcups.

Know you want to go new, but just for interest sake, I bought spare Sennheiser ear cushions as they were the only place in Sunny SA to stock, and the service was great!
