Hi Guys,
Is this unit worthwhile for flawless 10-bit playback? Powerful enough?

If you want to play 4K UltraHD @ 60Hz HEVC it will only work with TVs with 10-bit YCbCr 4:4:4, not the cheap 4K TV's that only output at 8-bit.
For 1080p HEVC 10-bit, it will also work nice
but for 1080p x264 10-bit, it's going to have problems, you will need to use software decoding then it can display 720p 10-bit x264 videos which most anime videos are encoded in.
This is just out of my head, so might have improved now.
I also can't believe what they are selling the popcorn chameleon devices for in SA, almost double the international price. Probably to cover all the ICASA costs.
Just remember the Chameleon doesn't have EMMC storage, uses external SD-Cards that can be twice as slow as devices with build in EMMC storage like HPH RK3288 Android boxes(same chipset as Chameleon). Currently have 3 of them and they work great. 7 Second bootup, 4K videos on a 1080p TV play great. Perfect XBMC video playback. The latest Android games run flawlessly. Can run Linux on it but full 3D and video playback is slowly improving and still being worked on.
Maybe consider buying that(better device but same 10-bit video playback) or an Intel media player like this

then you can install codec packs and play 10-bit 1080p videos perfectly.
