A client's email just generated this Spam Report -

1.7 RCVD_IN_NJABL_PROXY
RBL: NJABL: sender is an open proxy
[41.242.138.82 listed in combined.njabl.org]

Her previous emails did not. I see 41.242.138.82 is Telkom Adsl.
How does one get them to fix their open proxy and delist it?

Thanks, but why ?? I'm her (reselling) web host, could something be done at our mail server? SMTP.SAIX.NET has a number of issues itself.

Hi KdJ. Sorry for taking so long but I was out of town.

Looking at the IP address in the first email, it seems that she is using an dynamic IP from telkom. Most dynamic IP ranges will be blocked by black lists, so she will keep getting problems when sending emails. That is also means that it is not Telkoms open proxy, but some adsl user who used that IP previously was an open proxy.

The best solution would be to use a SMTP server with a fixed IP address. That is why I suggested smtp.saix.net. If she has her own smtp server, most of them will be able to use another smtp server. Thus her smtp server must forward all outgoing email to the smtp server of her ISP.

Are you her SMTP server as well? Then the problem is most likely on your side. I still suggest you to change your configuration so that your SMTP server sends email via another SMTP server that is on a fixed IP address.

I hope this helps.
