Good day, I wAs recently checking out the ADSL service providers, and I saw that open web had this package of unshaped and uncapped Internet

I am current with mweb 4MB UNCAPED premium. And the price between the two is relatively close. So was just wondering if anyone out there would recommend me changing or doesn't it make a difference?

Thanks in advance

There's a truth about openweb thread on this forum. Find it, read it, then decide.

You'd have a better overall service going with the other providers and at a cheaper cost, e.g.

CrystalWeb is R429 (personally with them and would be my first go to
Afrihost is between R397 and R700 depending on whether you go for Premium Uncapped or Business Uncapped (can't comment on their recent network performances...as I'm not up to date with it). Axxess is between R325 and R596.

How much is your usage monthly and at what times do you use the most bandwidth?

9 out of 10 times I'd recommend moving to a high capped product as most offerings provide uncapped (or massive amount of extra data) between midnight and 6/7am. This generally works out a lot cheaper and is more reliable.

The above.
Also if it's a high capped account, afrihost offers the option to buy Plus+ for R99 a month which doubles your data cap, 500MB, soft-cap and some other things.
Currently on a 150GB cap with Afrihost.

Was with Mweb for many years on the 100gig 4mbps package at +- R630.00 per month. Can’t complain much about their services. Had the odd problem here and there, however things just not the same at old Mweb as it used to be.

Moved over to Axxess. Currently getting double the line speed at double the amount of data per month, yes 8mbps with 200gig, at about R50-00 more.

At time of cancelation Mweb tried the old counter offer, but unfortunately too little too late. Kudo to them for trying.

Very happy with Axxess so far, up to date zero problems, streaming 1080p without buffer. What is nice though is the price each month.
Still smiling at the fact that I am enjoying double everything at just about the same price.

Download speed at +- 720 / upload +- .8 if the old memory is not letting me down.

Keep in mind MWEB's capped packages. Better than ever.

And in other news .... you may have won the Nigerian lotto ... :D

No thanks. I rely on my internet connection sometimes for 16 hours a day, and the only ISP that has been 24/7/365 consistently reliable for me over many years is MWEB.

But in the name of objectivity, I've heard good things about Afrihost's (Axxess) new network.

+1 - You're not delusional anymore.
