Open world recommendations

The Steam sale is upon us and I am looking to pick up an Open World game or two.

Currently on my wishlist is The Solus Project and The Valley.

I'm not really looking for survival, but more in the lines of mystery and exploration. The Solus Project does have a survival aspect but apparently you can switch that off if all you want to do is explore the planet and delve in to the mysteries behind it.

I have Ark but I'm pretty jaded by it at the moment. Any other recommendations?

You've probably played it already but I'd recommend Witcher 3. It's one of the best open world games out there.
