Anyone else experiencing problems with Openbrowse.

Up till a few days back (and in previous months) it has been running fine when I need it, but recently it's been totally dead or extremly slow.

Today I'm not even getting a request for my username/password from it. All local sites work fine with no proxy set, so it's not my line..

Anyone been having similar problems?

The ssl proxy wasnt working for me for the last few days, but all seems to be fine now... and by fine i mean working.. it is a bit slow and sometimes things just dont load

seems to be sorted now :)
At least with Openweb, when something does go wrong it's usually fixed pretty sharpish..

glad to be with them..

indeed, openweb can always be counted upon...

Has anyone successfully configured a torrent client to use the openbrowse proxy and allow international downloads??

i think so, ja. I remember when openbrowse 1st was propose.. there was talk of your usuage being recorded in terms of file extensions. So if u download a 1gb excel file, somethings up and you're not using it for the intended purpose. But I cant find anything official.

My reasoning is that (AFAIK) OpenBrowse is made available by highly overselling bandwidth since browsing is an idle-active-idle process. So, if it was used for downloads, it wouldnt work.

Would be nice to find something official on the intended purpose

Indeed. I am not keen to do something to p1ss openweb off , cos they are one of the few good isps out there...

Any word on this MrBeep?

As noted in the other openbrowse thread- don't use it for torrents..
If you want to DL stuff use the newserver hosted on IS.. or at least wait till you have int bandwidth so that openbrowse works for those of us who need it to BROWSE int sites..

Not having a god at u personally hj2k_x but it seems as if peeps are hammering openbrowse to DL stuff when there is a brilliant news server at their disposal thereby stuffing up openbrowse for those of us who need it for it's intended purpose..
