Openserve fibre with Vodacom as the ISP

Hi,

Anybody using Vodacom as isp with openserver fibre? I have a question, my valley went live more than a week ago and although isp's like afrihost, vox, webafrica indicate that I have fibre, Vodacom say that I am fibre ready and that they cant help me at this stage. Looking at their coveragemap I would say they are about a month behind what openserve indicates.

Anybody that have an explanation for this?

Rather just cancel your application now.

I had the exact same issue. When fiber went live, the VC coverage map showed my house as live with fiber. When I applied with them and they processed the application, the application email said I now need to wait for the fiber in my area to be completed. Wtf...

I called them on a couple of occasions, took about three weeks for the coverage map to be rectified. I've now been waiting another three weeks for them to schedule the installation of the CPE, but nobody has contacted me yet, even though I follow up with them every couple of days.

I'm going to cancel mine and just apply somewhere else where they know what they're doing.

Thanks for the feedback, just a pity since their 40Mbps / 600GB at R960 was just unbeatable. Will have to start searching again for something decent.

Yes that was what I applied for as well. 600gb is perfect for me with decent line speed. I just can't deal with the VC incompetence anymore however. I'm now looking to get a line only deal somewhere and use it with Vox fatpipe data. Probably Axxess or RSAweb that have line only options.

Just a note with vodacom: to change wifi password you must call support to do it for you. To do port forwarding a service request needs to created.

That's just BS to be honest. If I pay for a service, it should be mine to configure as I want
