Openserve is forcing me to use Telkom

I bet that if you as a home owner ask the HOA to see the contract signed with Telkom they won't let you.
Client of mine wanted to get to get Afrihost as a fibre ISP in Silverlakes Estate. Once told she could only get Telkom she asked the HOA to see the contract. They have refused her countless times saying its confidential, which is BS in my opinion since the HOA represents the owners.

The HOA are the owners - the Directors or Trustees (depending on what they choose to call them) represent the owners,.
And yes is BS to claim any documentation is confidential. As an owner she has every right to see it - maybe she can lodge a claim with CSOS

So the point is Open Serve do the work and run the network under the Telkom brand, that all it is, 2 different departments so there is no need for a tender, if Open Serve outsource the work, then that is another conversation.

Are you even aware of Competition Commissions findings and deal with Telkom Ltd that resulted in OpenServe being born?
 
Yes, it's the home owners association that signed an exclusive deal. Either gross negligence or corruption involved. I bet they'll be very secretive about who lobbied and signed for it.
 
The homeowners association is getting angry at me because I've informed them of all my previous issue I've had with Telkom.

So I'd advise anyone who want to avoid Telkom not move into Bougain Villas in Century City.

It's not corruption. It's common in the industry, and the association can choose who they please on their private property.
 
Using the afrihost coverage page it says you can use fogfoot.

Give them a call and see.

They should warn prospective tenants though before having them sign lease agreements.

I don't understand why we can't be on Century City Connect, like all the other complexes in the area.

I will never use Telkom if I can avoid it. I've had way too many problems with them. I hate them. They've cost me several thousand Rands on several separate occasions. They've probably cost me a promotion as well.

I also hate their dumb call center operators. They act like they will try to help you, but really they are just wasting your time.

Depends on luck with them TBH - I have had pretty decent service - and for my folks they were the best option

Pointless to even try and convince you - with a bad experience like you described no one will want to deal with them,

Estate or not, they're dictating what you can and can't use. Tomorrow they might even tell you that you may not visit porn sites, while you live in the estate.
Wonder if they have a list of car brands that's you're allowed to use, while driving to your house, on the estate?
 
Damn...i'm in the same situation now..openserve (Telkom) just trying to sell their own data

But he says he has no "arrangement" with them. Who the hell do i believe

I'm starting to believe openserve because everytime i signup with another ISP they say i have no fibre...
