Good morning, is there anyone that can assist,

Openserve installed fibre in my area a few months ago, and 2 months ago I was informed that the fibre was active, I checked on the site and its dark Purple,

I ordered fibre from Vox, and received conformation, and a Telkom ref no for the installation. I have not been contacted by anyone at Openserve yet, and Vox keep escalating the query.

I now have been told that according to Openserve, my area is not active and will only be live in March 2018, But I have neighbors in my street who have been activated, and Im still dark purple on the Map.

I have been trying to get hold of someone at Openserve, but had no luck, except for am email saying i need to talk to my ISP.

Any help is appreciated.

This seems to be the norm. I also sent them some queries after my complex went with OS rather than Vuma and got the same reply, they dont deal with customers directly, and wholesale to ISPs and we should liason with them. Its frustrating as hell. Sorry i dont have any solutions for you at the moment, still trying to figure our a plan of action myself. Will keep updating here if i do find a solution

Are the neighbours on your side of the street?

My area has the guys opposite with fibre and my side without :(

ISPs don't know the difference and come marketing with their clipboards door to door on both sides of the road

UPDATE.......

My Neighbor literally 4 houses away, on the opposite side of the road, ordered his Fiber through Telkom on Thursday last week. He has an existing Telkom ADSL line and is sticking with Telkom as his ISP. Openserve were at his house today connecting his Fibre. (where is the 4-6 weeks wait) The Subcontractor doing the installation said Telkom are giving existing and new clients priority. Surely that is not right.

I guess since OS is a subdivision of Telkom they can probly do what they want when it comes to that. Makes me wonder if there are any month to month Telkom contracts available.. Sign up for one, get the rushed installation, then discontinue and go with your ISP of choice.

Your order is with Vox so they should earn their keep and sort it out. You have no relationship/contract with openserv.

Agree with ponder, vox is who you signed up with, they need to monitor the account, or at least let you know why they cannot activate you
