Openserve KZN Outage

Does anyone know what the issue is with the outage today?

P. S. Afrihost network status page has this tagged under Cape Town but title is KZN.

I'm trying to keep some execs calm with several business experiencing this today and hoping for some answers/info (I work with a MSP).

Any solid info would be appreciated.

It seems like mostly Nokia ONT's have lost provisioning. Openserve is working on the issue. In some cases, we were able to restore service by doing a port reset which re-provisions and configures the vlan but it hasn't been successful for everyone. This is something we can try on your line if you still experiencing an issue relating to this.

Hi

I removed your email for security reasons.

I have reset the port because your ONT is affected by the provisioning issue. I see a pppoe session started up now.

Oh fantastic. I can confirm my firewall is happily dialing out.

Thanks for the removal. But tired and brain is slow.

Big ++ to you for assisting. Will try the same with the business locations tomorrow.

No problem. Happy to assist. Openserve are doing these reconfigs in bulk and should auto-resolve but if not let us know so we can reset it and see if the connection is restored.
 
Please advise if the Afrihost/Openserve issue is resolved. The Afrihost network status has not updated since this morning. Thx.
