It took an endless week to finally get my free 1-month Openserve line operating.
I have been on WebAfrica with Zoom Fibre. That was a disaster. Line continously interrupted and then youre directed via WhatsApp in endless loops to restart the router and your phone and your PC and your generator until the WhatsAPPs just stop getting replies. Then you try again tommorrow.
Eventually they "escalated the fault up to Zoom".
By that time I had enough and filled in the paperwork to get Openserve a try.
3 Days later the Openserve was installed but not working yet. On the 4 th day after my problem has been escalated, I got a call from Zoom fibre that they will look at the problem. I told them it is too late and they can nicely just fakoff.
It took another two days unitl this Friday to activate the Openserve line. Only a 50/25 line.

Ok so now we could watch some Showmax again via streaming. We are watching original old Dexter series and has been streaming it via Zoom from my previous house and now from this house. The picture was always grainy and the responses slow. (Downloading Showmax via my full top of the line DSTV premium package.
And Voila!!!!!

The picture quality is super clean and really HD quality. I could not understand because at both locations we downloaded via 100/50 Zoom lines.
At both locations the picture was grainey and we accepted it as part of watching old series (2008 is old).

But now suddenly the very same series next episode is beautiful colour and crisp with wonderful fast responses to remote control.

Have i been scammed? Is picture quality a much better indicator of your download speed than the Ookla of MyBroadband speed tests?

Because on the speed test the Zoom lines showed 100MB speeds but the picture quality was rubbish. Now on my 50MB Openserve line I have absolute brilliant quality?

Just asking

How are you connecting to your Router?

Did you do a DIRECT line test to the OpenServe router?

Zoom is a nightmare. Used them a few years ago and had problems with their fibre everytime there was loadshedding. Axxess was my ISP and they were also not very helpful.
I changed to Openserve and Afrihost and only had an issue once for a few hours the past few years.
My sister is still with Zoom as it is the only fibre in their area and she has countless issues.
