i waited so patiently to get it waited patiently for the 1st of Feb new data bundles and well i am so disappointed I'm beginning to think openSUSE 10.3 was the best they came up with . my first hassle came with selecting packages on installation i selected kde3.5 and xfce and ended up with gnome then i had to reinstall next my biggest irritation of all

http://mybroadband.co.za/photos/showphoto.php?photo=9173&cat=500

it shows all my drives even the ones i chose not too mount in all previous releases i have never had this problem i have tried everything but it still shows the drives eg 2.3g media and 5.9g media this is really really irritating me
next came the nvidia driver the one click install insisted on installing kernel pae had to end up doing it manually
then the mother of all freaking irritations to think they would have fixed this since it was a major bug in openSUSE 11 download speed from oss server is 604B/s less than 1kB/s way below the speed of dial up and here i am with hsdpa so doing any updates involves me putting a dvd and watching it . maybe even taking a nap
next too think they would offer support for the huawei e220 usb

Do what I did and switch to Ubuntu. I really love Suse, but the slow repository refreshes have become too much. I currently run Ubuntu 8.1 on my laptop and sometime this week, I'll be switching my Opensuse 11.1 desktop to Kubuntu. Just need to download the iso first.

i hate ubuntu gonna surf distrowatch look for some obscure distro

PCLinuxOS? They will be releasing a 2009 edition soon it seems. Knowing them it will be pretty polished.

Maybe look at Mandriva, still my favourite distro of all time. They've had ups and downs but I'm busy downloading the last one they released to test.

There's also Vector, or on the BSD front, PC-BSD and DesktopBSD.

mandriva i'm a fan but they let me down with 2009 mepis is ubuntu based so not for me

i used it last year i'm just not a fan of debian i'm currently quad booting mandriva 2009 opensuse 11.1 slackware 12.1 and windows opensuse being my primary os
