Hi

I purchased a Openview HD decoder, however I am struggling to get any signal.

I have a 1m Space HD dish with single LNB pointed at the IS20 sat. I adjusted the dish myself using a satellite signal receiver tool from SpaceTV. Using my existing DSTV decoder I am able to receive the DSTV promo channel. When the Openview decoder is connected I receive a message stating no signal detected.

I receive the same message when I connect to my older, smaller dish installed a few years ago (for DSTV).

I have contacted the Openview helpline and have been informed that although Openview uses the IS20 sat, the dish needs to be adjusted as the settings are different to DSTV. This does not make sense to me. Why would the dish have to be adjusted if the satellite is the same?

Any help would be appreciated.
 
Hi

I am using a dish with satcr for dstv and legacy for ovhd.

I would say you need to reset and re-scan the channels as i had an issue where i was using the dish that is for star sat, and when i changed i had to reset and rescan when using the dstv dish.
 
Check that the angle of the lnb is right?

xodosman123: How dow I reset and rescan. I have tried pulling the power cable out and reinserting. Also have done a factory reset. All to no avail.

Sinbad: I have set my LNB to ca. 45 degrees, which is indicated for the blouberg area.
 
Had the same problem, dstv would work but not ovhd. Got an installer in and he adjusted the dish to get better signal and then only it would work. What are your signal stats looking like?
 
I reset my dish using the satellite finder. Few centimeters to the right and it finally worked. Signal strength was 93 and quality 100. I activated the product and was able to view the channels clearly.

Unfortunately, today it shows me an E06 error message - the STB is not activated. As mentioned I did activate yesterday. Any guidance here would be appreciated.
 
For thise wih the same problem, I sorted this out by doing a factory reset. The decoder functiioned properly thereafter.
 
Same prob with OVHD

We tried everything it just keep saying No Tv and No Radio channels found. It said that we can use same dish as dstv our neighbours do. Is says ERROR : Wrong Network Information (NIT) if anybody can help will appreciate a lot!!

Hi, although the ovhd and dstv services are on the same satellite there settings are different. You'd be lucky to get the ovhd working off the bat as it searches for the specific frequency of 11170 v symbol rate 27850. Even a slight deviation would cause a no aignal error. If you've got nothing better to do, have someone monitor the signal at the tv end and use 2 way communication till the signal is optimised. Otherwise get an installer.
 
Hi im also trying to setup my ovhd pls help it keeps saying no channels 0%frequency and 0% strength any advice using old dstv dish
 
I moved and connected again Smart LNB Explorer primary and in bedroom 1 connected PVR. I tried connecting my open view top box but keep on getting message "no signal" On phoning for help the answer was that I should make adjustment on the dish/LNB . I don't want to go on the roof. Any suggestions ?
