Hi, Ive just started using openweb's 4MB uncapped LITE package, and I was wondering how at how much usage I would be in "the 20% bracket, upon which they will be drastically shaped".

Ive searched all over but cant find any info on this... can anybody with experience of this "drastically shaped" line help me out?

Thnx :)

This is a general answer to the Unshaped Uncapped Lite questions.

Firstly, IS are not going to initiate the shaping for the initial
amounts (New Accounts), ie, if everyone is under 1GB, then those top 20% who are at a
GB will obviously not be shaped & throttled. When exactly the shaping of those
select happens has not been disclosed, but were fairly certain it will
only happen after a few days usage or in the case of 24/7 downloaders,
once the 10's of GBs start getting used.

As IS do not disclose the overall usage statistic of this client base,
there is NO way to calculate where you are in the percentile, or how
much is actually going to be used by the users as a whole or any
specific percentile. No GB amount can be placed on a specific
percentile as the whole concept of the system is based on end user
usage, and not set caps

The top 20% are throttled regardless of the time and there's no unshaped
or un-throttling after hours.

Your usage is based on a 10 day rolling window, therefore, your usage
on the 25 is calculates as the total usage from 15th - 25th. For excisting
account, the window stretches across months meaning, on the 7Sept the
window is from 29aug-7sept.

We however have a "Guide" to choosing standard Uncapped vs Lite. If
you intend to use:

384k and 512k - 40 or more GB's it's best to take Standard
1024k - 150GB's or more it's best to take Standard 4Mbps
4Mbps - 35 or more GB's, it's best to take Standard

Its an unofficial "Guide" from IS, and does look weird, but then that's
IS for you.

Thank you very much :)
I guess Ill have to enjoy downloading while watching out on how much I download...

Thanks again!
