Business must be good.
In the hunt for a new ISP I called Openweb in the hope they can explain their different plans to me, as their web site makes no effort to do so. I did a lot of finger tapping before somebody picked up the phone ... only to discover that the somebody didn't know (gee, I thought it was a pretty simple question). I asked for a somebody that knew to call me back with the details. Days have passed, nobody bothered.
Okay, let's try Plugg.
A far more straightforward web site. I called their Help line to establish if this could be done telephonically (it's almost as if I am psychic). Nope, must fill in the online form. Which I do, four times. It either bombs out or it instructs me to fill in my email address (which it then proudly displays).
Breathe.
I called. I am told I need to use my personal email address. WTF? Any other obvious statements you care to share? Then I am informed that my password, which the online feedback doesn't even mention, MUST contain letters (yes) and start with an uppercase character (no). I ask where exactly this is spelled out on the online form, as it is news to me, and when I last had them tested my two eye balls were rated 20/20.
And I am somehow meant to trust these folks with my personal details and internet connection?
(On a separate note: an email query to the famed [actually by now infamous] Afrihost has gone unanswered for several weeks). Perhaps my expectations are just too high, but I kind of expect functioning communications systems from what is, essentially, a communications service provider.
Feel free to suggest alternatives, but my faith in these three Mickey Mouse operations is somewhat shaky.
:wtf:
