Does any1 use openweb email?

Are both the free and the paid accounts reliable?

Thanks

Yes and yes. It is as reliable as GMail.

Might be reliable, but certianly not as reliable as GMail... no SA ISP has an infrastructrure clost to that of Google.

[edit]
I dare say Openweb email is Extremely reliable, I am simply talking from a technical persective. I've never used Openweb's email.

We've had a number of recent technical problems surrounding spam being sent out from our webmail interface, but since moving server, the MX is always up.

Currently we are only accepting a small number of registrations, until the spam problem has been solved. Should you wish to signup, I suggest you contact me via PM or email, otherwise I might miss your request.

The paid domain hosting is hosted off the same server as our staff's OpenWeb email, so it's reliability is extremely good. :)

Gmail is the best so don't waste your time testing the others.

But if the gmail server is down, who can I call? "not ghost busters!"

Well thankfully GMail have like 100000000 servers, so it doesn't go down.

please note, the above phrase might be a very slight exagertation, so don't flame me.

Only by a 0 or two :p

Google have many servers all connected to the same harddrives in huge raid systems. So if one server fails, another takes over without any downtime. Same for harddrives, if one fails another takes over. The only downtime you should notice is if there is a huge gmail update or if we lose our international link.

"The way Google has been able to build out its computing infrastructure for millions, rather than tens of millions, of dollars is by buying relatively cheap machines. Looking at hardware costs, company engineers saw that purchasing a few high-end servers, with eight or more powerful processors, costs significantly more than dozens of simpler "commodity" servers.

The trick is to make these racks of hardware operate in tandem and to ensure that the failure of one machine does not derail an operation, such as returning a search query or serving up an ad."

Somewhat how this thread has been derailed.

Are there any free email accouts out there that allow 1 to download into outlook express?

No doubt, GMail is the most *reliable* provider, but it's also (par Hotmail) probably the slowest service to try and POP mail from.

I POP super quickly from my GMail account, in fact I don't use the web mail facility at all.

I'm looking for an email account that has many aliases for example lets say I wanted to get my entire extended family an email address eg [email protected] ; [email protected] : [email protected] etc

I would only need 1 domain (surname) but I need to have many aliases. Are all these aliases viewable from other aliase accounts or from the main account?

Any help would be pimping!

Thanks alot

Any email service provider whould be able to facilitate this... those are called email accounts, not aliases.

An alias is just that, if you had [email protected] and another address [email protected] was the same address, i.e. any mail sent to either would end up in the same POP box, then that's an alias.

Openweb should be able to set you up with a domain and email addresses under that domain quite easily.
