Is there still meant to be an openweb gold special coming or should I sign up for their currrent deal (want gold 4mb) currently like a R70 saving

Yes, Openweb does not do line rentals.

Im looking for an ISP at the moment. Not trying to be rude but what makes the "openweb gold" such a coveted account? The reason im asking this is because every ISP available has threads here with more than 100 posts about failures, new issues brought to light everyday. how on earth do i choose an ISP?

yea it is always tricky choosing an ISP if you have strict budget. If you willing to pay then any ISP will basically do what you need. I guess its best to try get test accounts from each one and see how they perform doing what you are going to do everyday with your line. I personally have always liked webafrica capped accounts and afrihost capped/uncapped accounts. Each to their own i guess.

Budget isnt really a problem. What im getting at is whether you have a 384 line or a 10mb line, the problems are consistent. To be honest, once telkom corrected my line speed, i havent had a problem. i want to move to a 4mb line and as we know telkom is charging +2k for their 4mb line. Not worth it but whats the point of paying half the price and having your ISP constantly correct a problem?

The reason we all love GOLD is because you get better speeds and no stupid FUP. You won't get booted off the network for using too much.

ok thats a plus. Also "too much" is a relative term. i work a 8 hour day. Series and movies are the only things im after. I dont need to dl more than 100gb a month. i think even 100gb is too much. I just dont want to have chase down my isp on a regular basis in order to get the service i've already paid for.
