Hi

I have the 2gb-28gb account from openweb. Today reconnected to check my usage and its standing at 2.8gb. Thing is my int speeds are still at about 20-30k indicating that I have not been "capped".

What I want to know is: is the int cap a hard or soft cap? and its a soft cap at what speed is it?

Cheers

From my experience with these accounts I can still browse internationally for up to 7 GIGs on average. After that it is pretty much a no go.

You can get the OpenBrowse package though which includes a OpenRouter / proxy service that lets you browse international at 192K line (or is it 384K  ) speeds. But, only browsing. No downloading.

I would like to know how they cap aswell, or do they allow maybe a 500mb or so extra on international before hard-capping?

ZOMG, me goes to get OpenWeb account then.

Turn your modem/router of for about 5min's then report back. If your still uncapped, you got lucky ;) The way it usually works for me is I exceed my cap, then my connection is reset by the server after 12 or 24 hours or whatever.
Then I am still uncapped, then upon my next reset even if it is only 100mb more I get capped.

But if I usually turn my router of for a few minutes I get capped(Testing my IPCop setup that I am setting up in my free time).

They work on 24 hour disconnects, but sometimes you do get lucky and get an extra session or two in my experience.

On 1024 you could get around 8 gig down and 2 up on the first day, regardless of which package you have.

I have an OpenBrowse account but I do not have access to this OpenRouter software. Please can someone aid me in setting it up.

Thanks man. Got it working but it’s only going at like 2 - 6K, periodically?

Also, MSN only stays connected for like a minute or two. Are these things normal?

I've reached my 2Gb cap but I can't get the OpenRouter software to authenticate me. When I enter my OpenWeb account username/pwd into OpenRouter (when I start the application), it gives me an 'invalid user/pwd' error.
Stupid question, but am I supposed to get a different username/pwd from OpenWeb which only applies to the OpenRouter functionality? Because my OpenWeb account username/pwd is obviously valid since I'm connecting successfully to the Net with it.
