OpenWeb R99 Uncapped 1 meg

I agree, there is something rather unsavory re this special offer.

The special was emailed at 1am this morning and before 6.30am was sold out. A forumite was told at 6.45am that the offer was sold out. So 1am-6am, 200 subscriptions sold at an average 40 per hour!!!!

BS!!!!

My thoughts exactly

I requested the offer for the R99 pm at 02:14 this morning but according to MR BEEP (Keoma) he only received my email after 08:00. Seriously!!!!

I am currently paying over R200 for a 384kb/s account. So I can see why he wouldn't want to upgrade me to a cheaper price... so let`s blame the mail service... but I am an Openweb user... so ironically my mail was "delayed" by Openweb.

This is the thanks I get after I am in my 3rd year of doing daily speed tests for OpenWeb.

I am disappointed and didn`t think I would be treated like an idiot.

So yeah, THANKS KEOMA

That is sad

I say again, what I was trying to say in my post earlier: What are the odds of NONE of the MyBB members in this thread managing to get this deal.

Was there ever even a deal to begin with???

Just to set the record straight - I sent my email at 6.43AM precisely, only got a response that it was sold out @ 10:51AM. It boils down to the same thing though, as I would imagine the orders are processed in chronological email order.

I'm more than happy with my current Silver account with OW. But as much as I am a fan, the point is - the email said the offer was valid until the end of today. If this was MWEB or Web Africa or anyone else there would be a huge outcry - ASA complaints and the lot. If anyone has to take the hit of the screw up it's technically on OpenWeb, not on the consumers.

I'm personally as happy as a pig in s hite with my OW uncapped after hours package but I agree, there is something rather unsavory re this special offer.

Apologies - some old age folk in another thread, i started, are losing their zimmer frames cos i posted a thread - should have read that this was heading in the same direction...

OH i am so bad. Bet they want to message some more to tell me how bad i have been and how i have really messed up their day but duplicating a thread...

Anyway while they get on the Prozac... I got the email at 01:27 and responded at 06:43 and i got an email after 10am to say sold out.. SO i guess i should have emailed at 01:28??

Yeah they can argue they only had 5 accounts for real! OR it was simply a test to see how many people read their emails? hmmmm not sure but clearly you have to respond a LOT earlier than i did!

Welcome to MyBroadband Thed! We feel quite honoured that your third post ever on the forum is dedicated to OpenWeb.

In the future, we will specify the amount of accounts available as well.

I do apologise for welcoming you to the forum.

I am glad to see you are an avid reader of the forums. I must however disagree. I do not feel it was a mistake offering the cheapest 1Mbps uncapped package to ever be offered! We will repeat this offer again. As per my previous thread, we will include the available accounts on the original email.

Wow... I'm all for having representatives on the forums, but this is just arrogant and rude.

-10 for Openweb.

I agree that MrBEEP has done himself no favours here.

Don't these people learn from other ISP's mistakes?

Your right to protection against bait marketing

• Suppliers are not permitted to mislead consumers in respect of pricing, the nature, properties, advantages or uses of goods or services advertised, if such goods or services are not actually available for purchase or procurement in accordance with these standards.
• Suppliers are obliged to include limitations in respect of the availability of goods or services when advertising such items, and honour such agreements.

Let's see if the CPA works.

Well I no longer want my R99 special so there's one less additional account MrBEEP is going to have to cough up for :-)

What was done is blatantly wrong - it's far from "petty" to expect to get what was advertised for.

Business is business and MrBEEP needs to honour what he advertised

Proof that sometimes the early bird still doesn't get the worm...
SO VERY true!! I wish they would be more explicit in their offerings and state that the 16th is actually a VERY short day for them OR that they screwed up and couldn't really HONOUR the offering!

I would assume, from the tone, it is Keoma himself - OR, if not, a CEO that allows someone to represent his company in such a way has a problem!

We can take this one step further. The original email states NOTHING to limit availabilty except that it is available "Offer valid only for signups until the end of Thursday 16 February 2012"

So - if you have proof you requested this, as i have, I would say you are in your rights to persue it further.

Mass action??

*bump*

I want to keep this thread going so that we can lose another ISP. The less competition the better! At least then the corporate devils can increase their prices and there will be no smaller ISP's left trying to make a difference.

OR

Maybe openweb and other smaller ISP's will learn from their mistake for trying to offer better pricing. I cannot believe they did this! FAIL

Yes, let's close them down! Let's take them on! MASS ACTION. Everybody, lets stand together on this and kill the smaller ISP's
