I recently got an openweb account to surf with after being capped, The problem is I needed an smtp server that I could use. The reason is that I've got telkom email adresses that have to work. I mailed Mr.Beep and he gave me the openweb smtp server to use, which uses secure authentication. I entered the username and password after activating secure authentication and tested it, it worked fine, just had to re-enter the username and password again, then it stopped working. It keeps popping up and asking me for the password. I'm not going to share the username and password I got from Mr.Beep, but I need some help with this, I'm using outlook express and using SMTP: mail.openisp.co.za

Any idea's?

Just got an email from Mr.Beep, there's problems with the mail server, my bad for starting this thread :)

thanks, im glad u did, cause every1 is running arond like headless chieckens in irc, no announcment in openweb support forums either..

Hey Guys,

I am back from my holiday, and walked into a nightmare.

I must apologise to everybody.

I am sorting out all the problems, and everything should be running smoothly again in the next couple of hours.

Kind regards
MrBEEP

same here!

mail is down and so is IS atm in cape town.

SAIX is working like a dream, but cannot get openweb mail!

this problem occurs from time to time, but usually it works second time around. now it won't fix itself.

I'm a little pissed with IS, they have these big adds up at the airport and everywhere even on this forum, they spend all this money and now cannot accept sign ups, which they should have stopped accepting at least 2 months ago.

What is going on? After they finish blaming telkom, is affirmative action next?

Does anyone know of another smtp server I can use for both SAIX and IS?

One server to work with both
Please

Seems like I could send one message using IS smtp server to send from SAIX: smtp.isdsl.net, but not SAIX to send from IS?

Now it says no relay access or something like that, why can't you send mail using one server?
