HI
Does openweb throttle? I have 2 log ins from one acc, one is sepose to be disabled but its not yet.

With the one , i get 7kb/s on http, and other 110kb/s on http on 4mb line. The one running at 7kb, i did a lot of download this week due its the main one...i just logged in with other one now to see if it stil work and if that one is also so slow

So is their throttling if u download to much?

so how does it happen that on same "profile" example vanilla i get 7kb/sec on HTTP (bf3 multiplayer page cant even open) but on other acc all go smooth..only 110kb on a small file to test..but i know its day so thats fair...

the shaping is supposed to be severe on vanilla. if you cant browse then its a problem. log a fault.

so what protocol will u get full speed on 4mb if ur vanilla?

for downloading? none. you would have to upgrade to gold to do heavy downloading during office hours.

but if you cant browse then you need to log a fault.

so if a webpage is 10mb big, i wont use full 400kb/sec to open it?
also a 10mb in email..? or a 10mb file in any other protocol..i will never get to use 4mb speed? whats the use of having a 4mb acc if u cant get the 4mb speed IN ANY PROTOCOL?

so what im asking is..what is the less shaped protocol on such acc? And that protocol, will i get 4mb speed on it ANY time of day?

Maybe if the website was just one 10MB jpeg. Websites will have tens to hundreds of different components to load from different locations. If these components are all relatively small then it is unlikely that you will utilize the full capacity of the line.

Downloads such as torrents are shaped during peak hours, web browsing is not, nor should your emails, or youtube, or voip such as Skype, or any such service - well unless the network is extremely busy I guess, but I haven't seen any shaping on those services on my standard account.

Log a fault if web browsing is slow. They will probably reset your port or something to that degree if it's your account. Log in to your Openweb client area and open a ticket. They usually reply very quickly and your problem should be sorted out in no time Give it a bash.

Hi There,
General browsing you should not see any impact on it. If you do then log a fault.
Torrents are a constant stream of data and as such will be shaped so you may see the conditions that you have described.
