Give the others a bash zen. Altech was very good to me as well, no nntp during the day well maybe 30k but at night it flew and http was flippin amazing as was streaming. I was sad to see it go but not when i saw 24/7 4 meg nntp :D

Try altech, the worst that can happen is it doesn't work.

Mrbeep is insane with the jumping between accounts, you pop him a mail and within 5 minutes you got a new password and username for the backbone you want to try. Maybe not at this time of night though :p
 
So VB has finally started flaking on me. Getting average download speeds of 20kb/s. A pity, it was running full-speed for the last month and a half. Going to stick with it for now and check if it gets better, but I hope it doesn't go the same way my standard uncapped account went.

Hi there so which backbone is good for fileserve.com and the like? thanks
 
As far as I know, rapidshare, fileserve etc is shaped quite heavily on most backbones. Best bet is trying to find some obscure filehosting site that the ISPs haven't heard about and thus haven't shaped yet.
 
I was on VB and it was working beautifully until last week then i was getting 10k download speeds even youtube and http bombed i was getting 384k speedtest and no amount of router reboots helped.all on openweb 4mb gold
. was given 3 different accounts , first altech then voda again finally im using Is at present.
the IS downloads well at night (slower on the weekend than VB though) and is actually useless for downloads during the day i am getting 20kb/s download speed this morning even though my speedtest is 4.9MB/s
. at least the you tube and http has not slowed down the internet is working .
 
Haven't really been monitoring mine, just about everything I do is automated, but checking the logs for the past week would indicate that whenever something is downloading the speed is 200KB/s max... guess its just something to get used to, its only really annoying when I need something ASAP.
 
Running between 2KB and 4KB/s on 384k Gold, fantastic :) Was good yesterday, just seems all over the place.
 
Certainly not IS... for me.... today..... from my place..... My FTP download is throttled at 2.5 KB/s. Logging in with Teamviewer is super fast, but the d/l is crawling. A quick login to the router to change to a capped account says to me it's nothing on my side, there I get 100% line speed.

For a Gold account it's really shaped to ****.

The same with my VB account. Must open Gmail in basic html, webpages takes forever to load, etc.

Maybe I must give the Altech backbone a try.
