Does the openweb uncapped gold 384K package throttle ur speed either half way through the month or if you have downloaded say about 7gb during the month? I'm thinkin of changin my isp (at the moment on IS package.

I don't think so? I've grabbed a fair amount and still running awesome.
So just got an email from Keoma, If you activate the Debit order with Openweb on the 4Mbps uncapped product, you only pay R69 additional per month to get the Gold uncapped for life, instead of R199 extra per month.
How are you guys finding Rapidshare and Hotfile downloads on the 4MB Gold accounts?I know during the day they are throttled to hell and gone, but what are the after hours speeds like? I'm just trying to get an idea of whether Gold is worth it for me as I only download from those 2 sites.

Well my net seems a little unresponsive today. When clicking a link it takes ages for the pages to even connect and load. Not even downloading, just HTTP at the moment. So no idea.

Hi Keoma, I see one of the other I/S reseller mentioned on the forum, that IS will discontinue their current uncapped shaped product sometime and introduce a new ADSL product which will be better than the current Mweb offer. Is this on the card and is there anymore detail you can share with us? Thanks.
Dude, not sure if you are currently using 4MB Gold acc, but I have since the beginnig of this month and I'm NOT impressed by it's performance. My previous standard uncapped acc performed better than this - for an extra R200.00I don't believe it's worth it - speeds are up and down, int news servers are throttled, rapidshare and other http sites are also throttled...read the forum and you'lll have the views of others as well. Just thought I's inform you, maybe you had a better experience than me.

- That's NOT my experience and I can guarantee you, my SAIX account is maxing out my line. In all fairness ijack, I doubt that you are getting full speeds on news and rapidshare, others on this forum complained about these as well...
Hi, I am on the normal Mweb 4Mbps uncapped account via Openweb. I have not even contacted Keoma once for speed problem this month since I changed from the IS normal uncapped. I only download HTTP at night and I always get full speed (I use downstorm to download all my torrents), during the day I still let my Jdownloader to run to download RS/MU files (not really worried too much about the speed, getting 60k/s average).
Mweb at the moment is already good enough for my needs. But it will always be nice to see other big players joins so more competition, better service, lower prices.

No Posts for 4 days... Things looking up for the IS uncapped accounts at the moment. International can be a bit slow at times, but haven't had a serious issue in a while.

I'm able to max my line (Gold account) at any given time on any given protocol. RS, HF, nntp, etc etc. I just don't do it the whole time, because I want to be able to browse too.
Please oh please tell me how it is you can get max speed on your gold account on HF & RS??? Most i get during the day is 30 - 60kbps and then it kind of tapers up from 12AM onwards til about 6AM and then drop s again!

I must say that I also get almost full line speed throughout the day. I mostly use news servers.
Also on a 384 line. Were I do feel the pain is browsing...but that has more to do with 384 than shaping.
Been with Openweb for three months now, very happy. I cannot tell you on what network I am on, only that I pay for the Gold uncapped.
Mr Beep moved me to one or other network, which is fine by me, it works and the bill is fair.
