Getting full speeds on news servers too.

Am on a test account, looking good!!!

Anyone else having issues with international today? I've been running perfectly for over 2 weeks but this morning its dead. I've emailed MrBeep but just wondering if I'm an isolated case? I'm moving over to GOld uncapped from the end of this month, should be much better.

Working fine here with my test account...

384k Gold.

Nothing like the dialup days, lol. I had my port reset last week and things were ok for a while but my international speeds slowly sagged back to this level again. What would cause this? If it were my line/exchange wouldn't my local speedtests be bad too?

Maybe it is your line?
I'm on a 384 line but using a 512 test account...??

Judging by that ping I'd say you being a busy beaver ;)

Quite possible it has something to do with the routes involved relative to the area of my exchange, when I was on Afrihost I also got slowish international (0.24Mb/s) but never this bad. I'm just confused as to why a port reset brings things back to normal but then slowly degrades again.

I'll have to mail Mr. Beep again, but unless I can figure out the underlying problem I'll have to do it every couple of days which is going to become tiresome. Anyone had a similar problem?

I stopped all my downloads and stopped any pages that were loading before I started the test... is that a bad ping?

925ms is pretty high yes, should be in the region of 300-600ms internationaly I think. You can always run the test again, maybe it was just a glitch. High pings shouldn't affect you unless you run something that requires low latency, like gaming or voice-over-ip.

Router still syncs at 4mb, I think SpeedTest just had a bandwidth fart twice in a row, I did it again and got 0.9mbit/s, which is more like it. With my Telkom like though its 3.6mbit/s, which I massively wish was uncapped!

Do you guys think that if I sign up wit openweb with a 384kbps account it'll be slower than my test account which is 512kbps? My line is 384kbps...

No idea, if you were on a 512k line I'd obviously say yes but it all depends on the condition of your 384k line. Did you specifically ask for a 512k test account or is that just what they gave?
