Hey dude, I found out why your max uploading kills the line - quite simple really:

Some upload bandwidth: You download something, it sends a reply that the data was OK, it sends more data
No upload bandwidth: You download something, no bandwidth to send reply in designated time, stops sending data

Always knew there was a reason, just didnt know exactly how to explain it

I'll have a read... thanks.

xrapidx - are you using SSL? do you find with older nzbs you don't get full line speed?

Yip - SSL - haven't noticed slow speeds on older ones, downloaded a 15GB download just to test everything was working again - it was over 500 days and came down almost all in one night.

I really can't complain about the speeds I'm getting... Especially after hours, but the ping/dc issues are getting irritating. The only problem I have is I don't know if that's Mweb in too deep with black ops servers, or if it is IS that is giving issues. It only seems to happen when I'm gaming... Anyone else also not sure or is my issue related to the same IS issues?

Mweb is hosting the local Black Ops servers on their network, hence Mweb accounts working flawlessly with it.
I've moved between IS and VB circuits and the problems I've experienced are similar.
However those problems disappeared for me and I'm able to play BO now without any regular issues such as dc's or high latency.

So would this core fault account for 30kB/s on newsserver SSL on the VB accounts?

VB throttles NS and P2P, quite possibly even SSL P2P....

That must have started in the last month for NS. Prior to that I was getting full line speed at any time

All I know is that I have two accounts, Gold and Standard and they are both crawling at ISDN speeds.............................

Mine is also slow, not getting more than 150kB/s on HTTP and FTP (on IS). Switched over to my Afrihost account a bit back and it was even worse - was getting max 30kB/s on FTP. Lets hope this is resolved soon.

Jongi, I'm gettting exactly the same at the moment. I'm not impressed by it it either. Mine sits between 15-30KB/s

I'll give the benefit of the doubt until this fault is over. But I am starting to have this nagging feeling that the premium is no longer worth it.

Same here, as soon as it hit 16:30 my speed has picked up to 160KB/s at the moment, which is really odd. Aren't these accounts then getting shaped to death, or are these Telkom backbone faults really to blame for slower speeds overall ?

Hmmmm. Same here. Has a feel of throttling about it. But I'll wait.
