and my speed has dropped down from 100kbs to 50kbs...
<cries in the corner>

EDIT: Now its jumping between 20 and 90 (mostly hovering at 24kbs). Connection isn't supposed to jump around like that. Anyone have a number for telkom? Usually when I call them I end up in the wrong department.

Tracert to EU website and it goes through Washington at a point? I think I've had this kind of problem before or am I just being paranoid?

Sent MrBEEP a mail asking him what he thinks it could be. Hopefully its something simple and easy to fix.

so i take it openweb has better service than mweb at the moment? I'm fishing for a 1MB uncapped deal.....mwebs off the list

Openweb has excellent service. I'd say take the 1Mb/s GOLD PLUS account.

DSL light is up, internet light is on.. but pages dont load, ping timesout, and so forth..
solution.. reset router..

Why would this happen? and needs to be done 3 times a day mostly

The modem function in those Linksys WAG N series routers are not very reliable. I used one (320N) for a week and almost tore my hair out. Went back to my Billion/WRT modem/router combo, and used the shiny new N series router as an additional switch and wireless access point.

Gave telkom a call. They said they could see no problem with my line syncing, etc.

MrBEEP moved me to different backbone again but tests did not look good. I turned my router and modem off and will test again in about 20 mins. Hopefully things will work again after that. If not, I guess I will have to borrow a modem\router from a friend to rule out hardware issues.

Hey Hey

My downloads seem to be seriously shaped on my BCS bbone today. Downloading from Rapidshare gives me sub 10kbs... same download on my * coff * Cybersmart account gives me 33kbs... others too on OpenWeb all sub 18kbs... yet on other accounts 33+.

* sad *
