Hi

I use IDM to download files and programs from http, with mweb (uncapped) i get 109kb/sec constant, with openweb i get 60kb/s max... why is that? Is http not sepose to be given n high priority? I mean really, almost 50% of line speed for http? Would understand for torrents and that stuff yes, but pages with lots of photos and so on take ages to load...

Anyone with input for me maby?

Thx

Could you do a speedtest? Check which network you're running on. I know some of the networks have been a little off lately.

bcsnet..who are they?? i always thought openweb uses IS mainly ? what is the best network at openweb?

Kindly email support[at]openweb.co.za and ask them to take a look at it for you.

already did, they say they get full speed their side and its shaped during peak time...

downloading now at 48kb/sec on 1mb line...same speed as old 384... with internet download manager with 16 connections via HTTP.

this file of 140MB is going to take me 1 hour....

Shaping on the standard uncapped accounts are pretty fierce. Back when I had a 384 one I often got 3kb/s during the day, bumped up to 6 at night.

Openweb offers the best uncapped with their Gold Uncapped, but their standard uncapped is practically some of the worst in the country. The saying for Openweb is 'Go for Gold or go home'.

all 100% now, Mr Keoma fixed it for me, im happy atm :) thx
