So I have been having problems with the VPN since Thursday night but I have not seen any complaints on this forum as of yet.

Just curious if anyone elses VPN is down?

Also if some other peeps could do a ping on the server and tell me what happens I would appreciate it greatly. I seem to be getting a lot of time outs.

Use this to do a test if you don't know how :)

Start -> Run
ping vpn.openweb.co.za -t

Thanks in advance!

Have you contacted OpenWeb's support? If you been experiencing having problems since Thursday, then I think it's safe to say it's not the usual kind of temporary network outage, etc.

im connected via vpn as we speak, you could try to reset router and reconnect.

Unfortunately Keoma is out of the country at the moment and Openweb is only on weekday support (I think?). I will try them tomorrow but here is my situation for now.

I have 2 VPN accounts linked to the ADSL account (it was a workaround for my old router which didn't work). Both accounts have been running fine up until now (over 3 months).

On Thursday I started getting erratic disconnects on both computers. I have since pinpointed the problem to not being able to be connected to the VPN at the same time as the other PC. Both accounts still work, on both PC's.

Whenever I try to connect to the second account, it goes through the usual connecting process then to "Checking network protocol connections" then it disconnects with Error Code 629: The connection was closed by the remote computer".

Nothing has changed in the setup on my side. I tried rebooting the router with current settings saved but to no avail.

To add to the problem as well, when a single PC is connected to the VPN, the line drops frequently and I am unable to connect to the VPN with the account that just dropped but can connect with the other one. When this happens I do a ping test and it often results in time outs. Browsing is slow when this happens and I get disconnected from WoW or have a weird long lag with a "speedup catching up". This is also typical of packet loss behaviour.

Suppose I will just have to wait until tomorrow :)
