Now if you are talking about the mobile version......... Vodacom offered it to me but when I wanted to install it I got a message saying it was an untrusted site! Go figure!
I backed out.

This is the blackberry section, correct?

Downloaded the beta yesterday but I haven't really tried it yet.

It is? Thanks, I entered via the "forum highlights" on the home page. At least now I know to look were i am in future! :-)
Thanks again

Like tab browsing, speed is also not bad. Much better than Bolt

I prefer Bolt 1.5 except when I have to click back to a webpage I looked at 6 pages ago.

just tried it out and wow .... it's helluva neat.

until i actually find something wrong with opera 5 mini, i dont think
Bolt will be opened again.

EDIT: Anyone confirm that Opera runs via BIS ? The Blackberry Icon next to the 3G is always there so I am assuming it is.
EDIT2: Spoke to the Call Centre, and according to the operator, Opera/Bolt browsing from the device will be charged for, so be careful :)
EDIT3: I've emailed Vodacom's BB Support to get a response in writing, and then we will all finally know. Would be a proper pitty to be stuck with the BB Browser.

Opera can use both bis and the network connection (depending on your setup, but if you are seeing the b icon then you're safe (but be careful with downloads) once I got Opera to run on BIS in February I haven't been charged for it so it is in fact free as long as you've set your tcp/ip to blackberry.net and have the b icon or edge in caps.

TX, what's odd is that once i've hardcoded blackberry.net as the APN in the TCP/IP Settings, as soon as I use the BB Browser, it drops the BB Icon, but using Opera, the BB Icon is solid.

I thought the apn was simply "blackberry" - I guess I'd better change that.

Iv got the new Opera Mini 5 my BB on MTN BIS prepaid. Been fooling around with it and havent been charged. So it runs through BIS. Loving the new version:-)

sounds good.

this is the response i got from Vodacom:

"You will be charged R2 per megabyte when using a different browser. "

when asked about using a different browser.
