That's your own fault :p

What's the site?

If it works in FF & IE surely its up to opera to make their browser compatible with all the funny little web scripts out there??

There are some incompatibilities with FF on the site (font sizes etc) but the audience uses IE anyway.... and I do it for charity anyway so I'm not going to change the buttons -

I'll stick to the devil i know - FF and IE for the un-technology minded visitors to the site ;)

Opera has been my primary browser for almost 5 months now, very nice

Yeah, but what's the site. I want to see if it's only your opera. ;) And they can't fix it if nobody lets them know about the problem.

adsl3g, just go to that site, then click on help, and go to 'Report a site problem', maybe they'll be able to fix it in the next update

:o what I meant is that the visitors to my site has not got the knowledge to install firefox and never use IE again:D
LOL. So they're stuck. Ok, try this:
Goto "Tools->Quick preferences" and make sure everything is enabled except for proxy servers. Also enable all pop-ups. Then goto "Tools->Quick preferences->Edit site preferences->scripting" and make sure all is selected. Restart opera to be on the safe side and hopefully with enough praying you can pin down the problem this way.

Also if you use Java applets you'll have to install the Java2 runtime from Sun.

Just busy downloading the latest version.....

Bugger

Ok, it seems a lot of people are going to have problems with this issue as I just spent three hours trying to fix a script that wasn't really broken.
Changelog for Opera 9.0 for Windows

Miscellaneous
  • Changed default user agent string to identify as Opera.
  • Moved "Identify as" settings to site preferences and added options to mask user agent string as Mozilla or Internet Explorer.
  • Site patching can now download certain site preferences as well as Browser JavaScript and user agent overrides.
  • The [Adv User Prefs] section of opera6.ini has been renamed to [Network].
Opera used to identify itself as Internet Explorer by default but now identifies itself as Opera by default which causes some servers to simply send back a "please get Internet Explorer" page. It also causes problems with some scripts which look for the 'Mozilla' string found with FF and IE. To fix this open the site and select "Tools->Quick preferences->Edit site preferences", select "Network" and set "Browser identification" to 'Mozilla' or 'Internet Explorer'. Or type opera:config into the address bar and set "User Agent->Spoof UserAgent ID" to 1 for 'Opera', 2 for 'Mozilla', and 3 for 'Internet Explorer' for a more permanent solution.

Does anybody know why opera keeps saying completed request .... and then the page just hangs there without the other elements loading.
