Opera in general has become garbage.
The regular browser keeps opening tabs for adverts, which is ironic as opera has a built in adblocker which blocks everything except operas own pop-up and tab ads.

The news reader, which was great, has as of this year gone down the toilet. They have a new program where they let random people become writers and it seems they allow anything to be posted. The reports and articles are laugably bad and it would be a nice source of comedy if the reporting wasn't on serious matters.

Removed all Opera software from my phone.
I'd stay away from this.

Opera on mobile and Windows are totally different beasts. Never had an ad tab open on my desktop while using uBlock Origin.

As for GX, used it for about 3 months till I decided I won't ever use any of it's specific features (limiting RAM or CPU usage) so I went back to just regular Opera after a Windows format. I can imagine if you are obsessed with running a dedicated browser while playing games but for me that's just not something I think about.
