My favourite Java app is Opera Mini - checking e-mail, reading news, checking cricket score etc....

BUT I took my Samsung d820 for some repairs (Think they did a firmware upgrade) and then Opera Mini was deleted. I have installed the GPRS and MMS settings received from the 1555 people.

I am able to access WAP sites but cannot the life of me reinstall the Opera Mini app. It takes me to the mini.opera.com page and then when I click on the download link it says network error. I tried any setting without success.

How is it possible that I can access wap but cannot download this time the Opera Mini app. What can I do where?

That's strange,

Will have to check this with my device manager and get back to you, what if you download the app onto your pc and then onto your phone are you able to download it onto your pc?

that used to happen on nokia phones and was solved by setting up the personal configuration. the nokias use different settings for apps connecting to the net and wap.

I'm not familiar with the Samsung phones, but on the Opera.com site, you get the option to install Opera Mini either by:

Direct installation to your phone, by using the simple instructions on the Opera Mini pages

or

Download 2 small files to your PC/Laptop, link the PC to the phone, e.g. by cable (but it may work with bluetooth as well) and install the 2 files from the PC to the phone.

My experiences with the above have been with Nokia (Sybian 60 OS) phones, using Nokia PC Suite, but I'm sure other phones have similar connectivity options between phone > PC??

Please let me know

I had a Nokia before; installation was a breeze from the PC to the phone (Ai, I wish for my Nokia). This is not the case with Samsung. Only possible in theory. The only way is to install it directly is to go to mini.opera.com.

I am still stuck with the network error. Thanks for the help so far.

Download Opera mini on your desktop ans tranfer it to your phone using a data cable or bluetooth. It should work.
