#OperationHydrate expects to hit 2 mln litre distribution mark

JOHANNESBURG - As the country battles extreme drought conditions, Operation Hydrate says it’s expected to reach the two million litre water distribution mark this weekend.

The NGO is delivering four truckloads of water to Swartruggens and other drought stricken areas in the North West today.

As Operation Hydrate distributes millions of litres of water to areas devastated by the worst drought in 25 years, the mayor of Swartruggens Kim Medupe has thanked the NGO and South Africans for rallying behind the initiative.

“Operation hydrates heard the call of government and we really appreciate the initiative. We are so happy, it shows that communities were in need of water, and they came in number to support this programme.”
