Opinion on laptop

I'd look for a laptop with Intel's newer processors. Try find a Core i5 in your price range, with the minimum being a Core i3

Hey guys,i'm still trying to decide what budget(below 8K) laptop to buy.
What do you guys think about this one? good value? Whats your experience with the quality of Asus laptops?

Thanks

Wow, nice Asus. I would not only buy Asus for bragging rights but they are just in a class of their own. But always remember that laptops are a personal preference. See if you can see one at Incredible Connection or the likes before purchasing.

Thanks for the replies guys.
there's a hp g62 on kalahari with an i3 processor,4gb ram,320gb hdd,but only intel hd graphics..for 1K cheaper
Is there a big difference between the core 2 duo and the i3 processor?
I'll only use it for home..,some internet,music,videos..if i'm able to play a game or two it will be a nice bonus, but its
not a necessity..

I'm helping a friend get a laptop for about R8000,
Asus - R8300
Intel Core i5 430m 2.26ghz
4gb DDR 3
500GB HARD Drive
1gb ATI Radeon HD5145
15.6
Windoes 7 Proffesional
2 year fetch and return
Free bag and mouse.

What you guys think of this? Good Deal?

The Dell Vostro at the bottom of the page looks a better deal. It has a 17" screen and dedicated graphics that can do good gaming. I may not have the latest CPU but the Core 2 Duo is no slouch.
