Hi all,

I just want some opinion's from myadsl members on mweb and their services.

I know they piggy back off of IS who utilise satellite connectivity for international bandwidth, but is this indeed the case with mweb also? do they not use saix for international browsing?

our web access in the lonehill area is nothing more than good quality dialup.We have a 1mbps Uncapped business ADSL package but just barely has the speed to support a VOIP call.

Our download speeds are terrible averaging about 15Kbps...

all input welcome

I know their customer service SUCKS!

I tried to upgrade a family member from Mweb dialup to Mweb ADSL;
1. emailed them to inquire about the procedure...NO response after 3 days;
2. tried again...response after 2 days requesting my phone number so they can call me;
3. number sent...still waiting after more than a month.

Have now lost interest and given up.

I think you made the right choice by giving up before you got involved in a service offering with them..saved yourself alot of trouble.

I have daily issues with these okes and its always the same story "our provider is aware of the problem" and "sounds like a telkom problem"....

really painfull.

Which is very strange as they're not cheap either... one would think with their fees they would be able to afford some decent end-user support...

Whilst I was on Mweb, I haven't had any issues when having problems, it was resolved quickly.

But I left Mweb because of their high prices.

sure, the support is not always that bad, its just a case of how many times you need to phone to get support because of reliability problems...

our internet access sucks so bad with a 1mbs adsl, and we are no more than 20 employees. I go to other clients with 50 or more staff on 1mbps and they are flying with telkom business.

something highly wrong with that scenario, agreed?

MTN seems to be like AOL in America.
They charge a lot more than anyone else and then spend all the money on sales and marketing to convince people they are better. In the end, they're not better, just better known.

No, I manage all user acess through our firewall/proxy. I am quite tough on downloads for that exact reason.

Besides, even after hours I get slow international access and even timeouts on some nights..

very sad...
