So , I have managed to sell off a plot of mine.

I have owned it since 2004 and purchased it for the princely sum of R50k.

Sold it off recently and after all my debts and goodies have been paid off, I now have R300k available.

I am now in the process of exploring opportunities to invest in a small business or a start-up.

Maybe even a small franchise. I know it's not a large sum, but I should be able to find some or other viable options.

I have contacted a number of advisers and brokers as well.

So just to allow for a more input, I was wondering if there's anybody out there with any other viable suggestions, as to how best to invest or utilise this money , with a view to generating some kind of profit or growth on it.

I value your input and thank you for it.

Maybe push it into property? You could get a flat and pay a nice large deposit on it, and rent it out, using that income to help pay off the bond. Once that's done, get another property, and use both's rent to pay off its bond, etc.
I know of someone in Cape Town who's sitting on well over 10 properties now that he's doing that with, and should he choose to stop buying new property, his income from that alone would be quite a good amount.
